This day in my career is unforgettable :)
Yeah as u all know this is the first day of the new financial year....
Also this is known as the "FOOLs DAY"
You can think my story is related to any of these things but keep waiting for the surprise...
Okay. Here comes the actually day. I started my day as usual. I went to office and started working. I got a new packet of work today. (This also adds to the flavor of the story. Isn't it? :P) I was working sincerely in it. Also i had some other management related stuffs to do. I was doing that too. Before lunch I was having in my mind that I should complete at least a part of that packet today even though the deadline is quite comfortable.
I saved a part of my work. Thank God I did that. I am really still amazed by my instinct. I actually locked my system without saving. Something told me "DING DING DING!!! Hello, SAVE KARO YAAR!!!". Hmmm then my wonderful mind reacted to it. I unlocked my system, I saved my work and I locked it again. And 'here goes Miss.K.Ramya Priya happily to her lunch'nu I went.
Ok. Now in food court the scene is like this. I was telling my buddies from other projects like I have got a packet of work today I need to go soon. i have this management kind of work also. Blah blah blah...... We happily finished our lunch then went to icecream parlour and ordered icecream and was tasting it with atmost joy.
There came this TRING TRING TRING of my mobile. I took and looked the display. It said "SAM" calling. She is my teammate.The conversation goes like this.
me: hello sam!
Sam: Hey Ramya, where are you?
me: I am at __so and so. Why? What happened?
Sam: No. Tell me if you had raised any AHD? (its a requesting system where u can raise requests so that if any problem or issue with ur system people from CC division (CCD in short) would solve it.)
me: No Sam. I didn't. Tell me yaar what happened?
Sri: (Sam handed over the phone to Sri. She is my another teammate.) Hey we find your CPU missing. (here comes the ultimate part) :D
me: What CPU? hey come on I know today is fools day. Don't ever try to make me a fool.
Sri: Hey we are serious. (laughs behind)
me: Hello I know about u people. I am not mad to believe this.
Sri: Ok. When will u return back?
me: In 5 mins or so.
Sri: Ok. Then come and see it yourself to believe. Bye.
me: Bubye. And dont imagine I would ever ever do that (Believing) :)
Then after that I went to my cubicle. Everybody in my team were focused on the doors of the area. As soon as I entered, they started focusing their eyes on my expressions. (I was very casual u see. hi hi :) ) When I went inside my cube, there I found a surprise. There is no CPU connected to my monitor. My monitor shouting "Hey buddy no input connected!!!!". Hmmm sooooooo "My CPU is missing". I could not believe my eyes. Then also I was asking my teammates if they are playing prank with me by hiding my CPU. They all laughed uncontrollably but said that it is true.
I didnt know what to do. I went around the whole wing in searching for my CPU. (Where in world would a CPU be found missing in an org? Mystery..... :D:D:D ) Even i was uncontrollably laughing and searching. One side, people were scaring that I am responsible for that system and if anything happens then it would be a great mishap and I would need to face it. I went to my manager telling my CPU is missing. He didnt believe me at all. He thought i am playing prank with him. He called one of my teammate and confirmed if it was true. Then I didnt know what to do. I called up the building security and asked if he found any of the person going with a CPU. (Oh God. This was most funny. Can u imagine a guy/girl stealing a CPU and going?) Then I explained everything to him. He noted down everything and he said he would inform me if in case. (ha ha. Imagine a man carrying heavy CPU running out of the building. He would have thought I am mad to tell him such stories. :( )
Here comes the turning point. Then everybody in the wing spotted my cube and was having fun. They have never ever witnessed something like this before. The case of the stolen CPU. :D Then when everybody was telling each other that they are playing, there came a girl. She informed that she was from CCD. She straight away went to one of the other project member's cube and inquired something. (Note: Those project people where the only ones not to come to my cubicle when everybody in the whole wing spotted my cube to solve the mystery.) Then as she saw the crowd (or probably one of that team member should have said something is happening in my cube.) she asked me what happened. Then I explained everything once again to her. (Poor me explaining the whole mystery again and again. :( )Then she said, "One other person from CCD has mistakenly shut down ur CPU (I Thanked God once again for saving things through my instinct.) and has taken it for some maintenance as somebody else requested such service for their system. (This someone was from that team mentioned previously. Here is the reason why didnt they turn up at my desk. They knew the reason :D:D Atleast while I was searching they could have told me. Hmmm but it would not have been this much fun if that had happened. Thanks to them :D. )"
Here came the relief. I asked that girl to replace my system immediately. She agreed. And hence my lost CPU was found. I got my CPU back. :) (Happy Ending. Hurray !!!!!!! Detective Ramya.. Solving the mystery :):):) )
Cant ever forget this hilarious moment. :) Really funny, isn't it? :D:D:D:D
